Historic Football Game To Take Place in Arlington, VA on November 16 with a Team of Wounded Warrior Amputees, Redskins & NFL Greats, Governor George Allen and Re-enactment of one of the NFL’s Most Famous Plays From Super Bowl VII With Garo Yepremian & Mike Bass… Come Out And Share This Historic Memory November 16th!

Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Noon at Bishop O’Connell HS, 6600 Little Falls Rd, Arlington, VA

On Saturday afternoon, November 16, 2013, Bishop O’Connell HS in Arlington, Virginia, will host two historic firsts: The first ever Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team vs Redskins & NFL Alumni Flag Football Game and Tribute to honor all of America’s veterans during the week of Veteran’s Day 2013… History will also be made that afternoon as Miami Dolphin kicker Garo Yepremian and Washington Redskin defensive back Mike Bass will be reunited – in support of this terrific cause – to re-enact their famous Super Bowl VII “NFL Films # 1 Football Folly” blocked FG attempt and subsequent Yepremian “pass”… To relive that famous play please visit YouTube… These two Super Bowl heroes have never appeared before together in Washington, DC…

Additionally, Governor George Allen will attend this tribute as our honorary coach of the Redskins Alumni and he will be joined by a number of his father’s players from that 1972 Super Bowl team including ’72 NFL MVP Larry Brown, Pat Fischer, Ted Vactor (who blocked Yepremian’s FG att), Mack Alston & Ray Schoenke along with Bishop O’Connell’s NFL star Eric Metcalf & Bob Asher, Terrapin NFL stars Stan Gelbaugh, Eric Sievers & Kevin Glover, Derrick Dockery, along with Tony Lilly, CC Brown (himself an active member of the US National Guard), Ron Saul, Eric Hipple, Bruce Laird and another dozen NFL Alumni (tba).

This game’s hosts are Brian Mitchell & LaVar Arrington (LaVar’s father is an amputee veteran of Viet Nam). The WWAFT is composed of men and women who lost a limb in their service to this country and will include a number of local WRNMMC athletic veterans who are determined to defeat these NFL stars at their own game!

Ticket Prices are $20/adults, $10/HS students, Children will be admitted Free. The Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team is a non-profit, 501-c-3… Disabled Veterans will also be admitted at No Charge…
