SSG Tanner Stephen Kuth, 33 years old and was born in Kingsport, TN and raised there and Ridgway, PA. Played multiple sports including football, baseball, and basketball. Graduated high school in Ridgway in 1999 and after working numerous jobs entered the US Army on Sept 13, 2001 (my original ship date for basic training was Sept 11, 2001). Upon entering, completed nearly 10 years of active service, with two tours to Afghanistan in 04-05 and 09 as an Army Infantryman. Was selected for Special Forces Qualification Course and while attending was injured, leading to return to the infantry before second tour to Afghanistan in 09. Was injured in IED blast while on patrol in Stryker vehicle with Recon Platoon in Arghandab Valley, Afghanistan on 14 Aug 09. Broke both feet and legs, neck, back, servix, and suffer from mild TBI and PTSD. Ultimately lost left leg below knee and suffered 60% loss of vision field in right eye. Spent 1 year at Walter Reed Army hospital in Washington DC, and a final year at Ft Campbell, KY until retiring on 21 August 2011. Hobbies include gym time, watching and playing sports (with vetsports and other great organizations like them), and spending time with friends and family. Now live in Holiday, FL with my girlfriend Sadie Levine and together are expecting first child in October. Am currently attending St Petersburg College doing general studies, leaning towards a degree in either business or prosthetics.
