Born May 28,1982 in Brooklyn, NY. Graduated from Leonides Morales Rodriguez High School in Lajas, Puerto Rico. Then enlisted to the US Army October 2001 as a 35Y (IFTE ). Served with Bco 782nd MSB,82nd Abn Division Ft Bragg, NC from Jan 2002-May 2006. Reclassed to 38B Civil Affairs Operator with Bco 96th Civil Affairs Bn. FT Bragg, NC. From June 2006- July 2007. Had two deployments one with 82nd Abn Div. Sep 2003-Apr 2004 and my second deployment with 96th CA Bn from Apr 2007-July 5, 2007. Which is the day I was injured by an IED(roadside bomb). In which I lost my left leg below the knee and fractured 3 bones and shattered my patella in my right leg. Arrived at Walter Reed July 7, 2007 where I did all my surgeries and rehab until I finally decided to medically retire on Apr 29th 2010.
During my time in Walter Reed I participated in handcyling in which I did New York and Boston marathon. Face of America Ride from the Capitol to Gettysburg, Also got my open water certification in scuba diving. Currently training to do triathlons with Hope For the Warriors and participate in 2014 Warrior Games in Colorado Springs.
