Rob Nelson has a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Physical Education from the University of South Florida and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the NOVA Southeastern University. He began his teaching career in middle school as a physical education teacher at Pierce Middle School. During that time he began coaching girls soccer at H.B. Plant High and his team made the state playoffs 7 straight years. He was named coach of the year four times. In 2003, Rob became Assistant Principal for Student Affairs at Plant. After 2.5 years in that position he was promoted to Assistant Principal for Curriculum. He was appointed principal at Plant High School in 2007 and has been in the HCPS for the last 18 years. Rob is married and he and his wife have four children.
