Dave Stevens is a 7 time Emmy winner who has had a 19 year career at ESPN in Bristol, CT. He currently works as the Assignment Desk Manager.
Dave was born without legs in Arizona as a result of Thalidomide but has played able bodied sports all his entire life. Dave is the only amputee to ever play college football and baseball at Augsburg College in Minnesota.
Dave has also tried out for the Minnesota Twins, Cincinnati Reds and the Dallas Cowboys. He played minor league baseball for the St. Paul Saints in 1996 and has the noble honor of pinch-hitting for Darryl Strawberry.
His MLB dreams continue as he is a frequent guest of the Tampa Bay Rays taking part in batting and field practice as well as throwing out the first pitch in many MLB games.
In 2013 Dave was “drafted” by the WWAFT as a non-military recruit to help motivate the veterans and able bodied athletes and has played Quarterback and Defense vs the NFL Alumni teams.
Dave considers himself “A Half Brother” to the team; he is proud to be a part of such an amazing organization.
He is a single father of 3 boys and recently got engaged at the WWAFT Super Bowl Halftime show. Dave passion is sports, but Dave now also tells his life story as a Professional motivational speaker.
